Madeline & Nathan

Ceremony Location: Private Vows in the Love Garden followed by the Ceremony under the Fig Tree

Reception Location: Cocktail Hour in the Chess Garden followed by Reception in Chesters

How did you and your partner meet?

We met on Bumble, but had crossed path a bit over the years through football as I had reported on some of Nathan’s games.

How did you or partner propose?

I planned a weekend away in Port Stephens for Nathan’s birthday and we went for a walk before dinner one night and Nathan surprised me by popping the question.

What was your favourite part of your ceremony?

Being able to do our vows privately in the stunning Love Garden was really incredible, it was the perfect backdrop to a really special moment. Having all our guests under the beautiful fig tree for the ceremony with gorgeous florals from Flowerhead was really beautiful too and it was just the perfect setting to get married. I surprised Nath with one of his favourite songs when I walked down the aisle and Jack and Georgie absolutely nailed it.

What did you love about your reception?

Absolutely everything! The food from Season and Savour was incredible, the vibes were unreal, the music from Jack and Georgie was phenomenal and they made the dancefloor so fun. Chesters looked fantastic with the florals from Flowerhead and the set up from Annie and Emily who put out all my DIY styling bits perfectly, and the choc-a-bloc dessert station was sensational. We had an amazing friend MC and he kept our very small crowd entertained and engaged and we had some great speeches from our parents.

We had an incredible duo of photographers in Mandy and Scott and a fantastic videographer in Liv who managed to take the most amazing photos and videos of an incredibly camera-shy couple in the most natural way, without us having to sacrifice too much time with our family and friends at the reception, which was perfect!

The staff at Terrara set everything up exactly how we wanted and everything ran so smoothly it really was the perfect night.

What is your advice for any future couples planning their wedding?

Make every decision based on what you and your partner want and enjoy it! Trust your instincts and try to pick great vendors as they really make the day
