Laura & Matt
How did you and your partner meet?
Through friends of friends.
How did your partner propose?
On holiday in Bali on a beautiful cliff top, with a private dinner surrounded by rose petals and candles.
Why did you choose to have your wedding at Terrara house?
Matts sister and my sister-in-law got married there five years ago and when we visited and drove down the driveway we instantly knew it was the place for us .
Did you have a theme for your wedding?
No, we didn’t have a theme. The beauty of Terrara house and the surroundings speaks for itself .
What was your menu on the night?
We served a selection of share plates. Appetisers were ceviche, lamb Koftas and zucchini flowers. The mains were grilled citrus and herb crusted trout with sweet potato gratin with a pomegranate and fennel salsa. We also had lamb shoulder with scordalia, butter beans and toasted almonds with a red wine jus. For dessert we had a torta Regina and pear tarte tartan for dessert.
What was your favourite part of the ceremony?
Hearing Matt say his vows as they were a surprise to me and so beautiful.
What did you love about your reception?
I loved the overall vibe that White Top Venues and Terrara House created. I really loved the touch of having a see-through marquee and fairy lights draped across the roof to create a beautiful ambience. I loved how clean and sleek it looked and I particularly enjoyed the when Matt spoke in Italian during his speech.
How many people attended your wedding?
120.
What’s your favourite location in Terrara house estate and why?
it’s honestly difficult to pick one place because it’s all stunning. I absolutely loved getting ready in the French provincial style beauty parlour. And having access to the house for all my closest friends and family was particularly special. The area where we had the ceremony, by the massive tree was manicured so that the grounds created its own little private area.
Did you plan a post wedding honeymoon celebration and if so what did you plan?
Yes we planned to go to the Maldives and we left a couple of months after our wedding which was nice to have a break and give us something to look forward to once the wedding celebrations were complete. We stayed on a private island in an over water bungalow which was truly an amazing experience being so close to the sea life.
What’s your advice for any future couples planning their wedding?
I think it’s really important to have an amazing team, the Terrara House team were truly spectacular and made everything seem so easy when I’m sure behind-the-scenes that was a lot more going on.
