Chantelle & Zain
How did you and your partner meet:
We met in my old office building at the coffee shop
How did you or partner propose?
After tricking me to believing he ‘wasn’t ready’, he surprised me by getting down on one knee while we were taking photos on a sunset cruise in Hawaii
Why did you choose to have your wedding at Terrara House?
It was beautiful, unique and unheard of. We wanted a destination wedding but because of covid we had to keep it within NSW. Terara was a hidden gem we came about by luck (when we went to visit another wedding venue) and we fell in love with its charm straight away. They were super flexible and easy to deal with and made the whole process a breeze.
Did you have a theme for your wedding?
Modern romantic
What was your menu on the night?
We had canapes roaming for cocktail hour and for the reception we had:
Antipasti – salumi brothers curedmeaats, selection of cheeses, pumpkin hummus, balsamic and wattleseed glazed pepitas, smoked olive oil, crispy leeks, crudites and fresh sourdough bread;
Mains and sides: lamb shoulder, Portuguese chick, crispy potatoes, wood roasted broccoli and shaved zucchini salad
Desert: dark chocolate mouse and sticky date pudding
What was your favourite part of your ceremony?
The ceremony was held at St Patricks Church. Walking down the aisle with my dad and then meeting my partner at the halter – so many emotions!
What did you love about your reception?
Having the marquee in the garden with all the fairy nights after the sun sets - it is magical. But our favourite part of the reception was dancing the night away with all our favourite people under the stars!
How many people attended your wedding?
It was meant to be 194, but because of covid in Melbourne we ended up with 164.
What was your favourite location in Terrara House & The Estate and why?
It would have to be the Maze – the endless photo opportunities and its seclusion away from the rest of the party was really special. It was a hidden charm for sure!
Did you plan a post wedding ‘honeymoon’ celebration and if so, what experience did you plan?
No we did not!
What is your advice for any future couples planning their wedding?
First things first – have a checklist of things to do! There are so many things to remember and you will probably feel like you are losing your mind. My to do lists saved me (and also Courtney from Whitetop Venues – she’s amazing...)
