Alice & Scott
Wedding Date: 14th September 2024
Ceremony Location: On the lawn in front of the house
Reception Location: Cocktail hour in the chess garden, followed by reception in the marquee
How did you and your partner meet?
We were introduced (query set up..) through friends at the Clock hotel in Surry Hills 4 years ago.
How did you or partner propose?
Scott organised a boat day so left early in the morning to set up the boat then
came and picked me up with coffees a little later in the morning. We drove over to Store Beach
in Manly and set up on the beach, where Scott had prepared a picnic and
brought a few Aperols. Scott decided to go for a “walk” and when I turned
around he was in the bushes waving a stick around which raised my
suspicion. He called out to me to join him and when I did, he proposed. We
made our way back to my family’s home where we celebrated with both of our
families & friends.
What was your favourite part of your ceremony?
Having all of our loved ones witness our marriage was such a surreal experience. Our celebrant Ally was also amazing, she brought such a calm presence to the day and made our very large wedding feel very special & intimate.
What did you love about your reception?
It was just so much fun! The John Field Band had everyone up & dancing from the very beginning, so vibes were very high all night. We loved hearing all of the speeches, the food by Rukus was unbelievable and a highlight would have been getting everyone up on the dancefloor before dinner!
What is your advice for any future couples planning their wedding?
Focus on the details that highlight who you are as a couple and prioritise these! And take a moment on the day, just the two of you, to take it all in.
